The History of God Wars

Please note that this is a revised version of the GodWars history. Much of the precise details (such as exact dates) were lost over the years - but the recent enabling by Google of deja's old usenet archives provided access to posts dating back to early 1995. Combined with this information, I've spend time talking to old players, reading old emails, browsing various websites and generally researching into all the information I can find to create a timeline of GodWars. Armed with this new knowledge, I'm also able to provide a more complete and accurate description of the history of God Wars. My main reason for doing this is personal curiousity, but also because I hate posting inaccurate information - and recent discussions had made me doubt some of the dates I had previously given.
